In 2008, Melbourne, Australia was named the second UNESCO City of Literature, due to its rich history of writing, its vibrant literary festivals, and its plentiful number of bookshops, publishers, writers, libraries and literary monuments.
Whether you're based in Australia or in far-flung foreign climes, this app will take you on an inspiring journey down Melbourne's literary byways. You'll encounter great writers and entertaining books at every turn, be they fiction or non-fiction.

Harris is a Melbourne-based writer
with four novels, one play and several short stories under her belt to
date. Her latest
book is The Opposite of Life, a vampire novel
set in Melbourne. Two new books are due out by the end of 2011: the
sequel to The Opposite of Life and Showtime, a
collection of short horror stories.She also writes in the business sector and spends time dreaming up new iPhone apps to develop. Narrelle created Melbourne Literary in association with Sutro Media.
Narrelle lives in the city centre of Melbourne, Australia, with her husband, Tim Richards, and their apartment-bound cat Petra.
